Pipe lining: inspect, prepare, line it
A recurring blockage can point to more than a build-up in the pipe. Cracks, defective joints, roots and changes in the pipe’s shape can all affect how a drainage system works. The first step is to understand the condition before choosing a repair.
Inspect first
A CCTV drainage survey helps us examine the pipe and identify the location and nature of the problem. Access, diameter, condition and the route of the drain help determine what repair is suitable.
Prepare the pipe
Where lining is suitable, the pipe is cleaned and prepared before installation. Deposits or obstructions need to be addressed so the repair can be installed properly.
Line it
A resin-impregnated liner is installed inside the existing pipe and cured to form a lining that seals suitable cracks and defective joints. A final inspection checks the completed work.
When excavation may be needed
Pipe lining can reduce the need to dig up a garden, driveway or working area. It is not suitable for every defect: collapsed pipes, major deformation or problems with the pipe’s alignment may require excavation or replacement. We explain the findings and options before work begins.
